1H & 4H Forex Signals & Technical Analysis
Four-hour buy/sell readings for the majors with 1H tabs for timing — the day-trader and swing-trader timeframes.
Updated · live data4H technical analysis with 1H timing: EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY
The 4-hour chart is where most institutional intraday structure lives: six candles per day, one per major session phase. The panels below show the live 4H signal for each pair; switch to the 1H tab to time your entry inside the 4H trend. A setup is A-grade when 4H and daily agree and the 1H reading has just flipped in the same direction after a pullback to a key level.
The 1H / 4H multi-timeframe method
- 4H sets the bias. Only look for longs when the 4H reading is Buy or Strong Buy; only shorts when it is Sell or Strong Sell. Neutral means stand aside or trade the range edges.
- 1H times the entry. Wait for the 1H reading to dip to Neutral (a pullback) and then return to the 4H direction. That flip is the entry trigger.
- Level confirms location. The pullback should end at the 4H 20/50 EMA, the daily pivot or a prior swing point — see key levels today.
- Stops beyond the 1H swing, targets at the next 4H level. This naturally produces 1:2 to 1:3 reward-to-risk.
Typical 4H swing parameters
| Pair | Stop | Target | Hold |
|---|---|---|---|
| EUR/USD | 35–50 pips | 80–120 pips | 1–3 days |
| GBP/USD | 45–65 pips | 100–160 pips | 1–3 days |
| USD/JPY | 40–60 pips | 100–150 pips | 1–4 days |
| XAU/USD | $12–$20 | $30–$50 | 1–3 days |
Signal checklist before you enter
- Gauge reading is Buy/Strong Buy (or Sell/Strong Sell) on this timeframe and on the next higher one.
- Price is at or near a key level, not in the middle of nowhere.
- No red-flag release in the next 30 minutes on the calendar.
- Spread is normal for the session (see sessions).
- Position sized with the calculator; stop and target set before entry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these forex signals free?
Yes. Every signal reading on TheForex.net is free and generated live from TradingView's technical-rating engine, which combines 26 indicators.
How accurate are the signals?
Indicator-consensus signals work best in trending markets and worst in tight ranges. Combining the reading with key levels and the calendar filters out most low-quality signals. No signal service is right every time.
Is the 4H chart good for beginners?
Yes — it is the most forgiving timeframe: fewer decisions, cleaner trends, and stops wide enough that spread and noise matter little.
How often do 4H signals change?
A 4H reading typically holds for 1–3 days in a trend. Frequent flips mean the market is ranging — reduce size or wait.
