Key levels are the prices where the market has repeatedly turned — or is statistically likely to. For intraday forex trading the levels that matter most are today's daily pivot point (P), the first and second resistance (R1, R2) and support (S1, S2), yesterday's high and low, the weekly pivot and the nearest round number. Below you'll find the daily technical reading for the four most-traded instruments, a daily chart to pull yesterday's values from, and a calculator that turns those values into today's level grid.
Calculate today's levels
Switch the chart above to any symbol, hover the previous daily candle to read its high, low and close, then enter them here. Levels are computed with three popular methods so you can see where they agree.
Pivot point & key-level calculator
Enter yesterday's high, low and close (from the chart above) to compute today's classic floor-trader pivots, Fibonacci pivots and Camarilla levels.
Which levels matter most?
| Level | What it is | How traders use it |
|---|---|---|
| Daily pivot (P) | (H + L + C) / 3 of the previous day | Bias line: above = buy dips, below = sell rallies |
| R1 / S1 | First resistance / support from the pivot | Typical intraday target; often the day's high or low in quiet sessions |
| R2 / S2 | Second band, roughly one daily range from the pivot | Extended target on trend days; fade zone on range days |
| Yesterday's high / low | Actual extremes of the prior session | Breakout triggers and stop-hunt zones |
| Weekly pivot | Same formula on last week's candle | Swing-trade bias; strongest when it lines up with a daily level |
| Round numbers | 1.1000, 150.00, $2,500… | Option strikes and large orders cluster here; expect reactions |
| 4H 200 EMA | Dynamic trend average | Institutional reference; pullbacks to it are high-probability entries in trends |
Key levels by pair
Each pair's analysis page has a dedicated key-levels section and pivot calculator: EUR/USD · GBP/USD · USD/JPY · XAU/USD · AUD/USD · USD/CHF · USD/CAD · NZD/USD · EUR/GBP · EUR/JPY · GBP/JPY.
Trading key levels: three rules
- Wait for the reaction, not the touch. A rejection candle (pin bar, engulfing) at a level is the entry; the level alone is not.
- Put stops beyond the level plus spread. Levels are zones, not lines — give the trade room for the wick.
- Respect the calendar. A level rarely holds through an NFP print or a central-bank decision. Check today's events first.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are daily key levels calculated?
The classic pivot is (High + Low + Close) / 3 of the previous trading day. R1 = 2P − L, S1 = 2P − H, R2 = P + (H − L), S2 = P − (H − L). Fibonacci and Camarilla variants use the same inputs with different multipliers — the calculator on this page shows all three.
What time do daily levels reset?
Most traders use the 00:00 UTC (or 17:00 New York) daily close. Our chart is set to UTC; be consistent with whichever close you choose.
Do key levels work on gold?
Yes — gold respects pivots and round-dollar levels ($2,500, $3,000) very well. Use 2 decimals in the calculator.
