The 15-minute chart is the scalper's home timeframe — long enough to filter tick noise, short enough to give several setups per session. The panels below show the live 15m indicator consensus for the six most-traded instruments. A scalping signal is only worth taking when the 1H reading agrees (check the tab inside each panel) and price is within a few pips of a key level.
How to scalp with 15-minute signals
- Trade the session, not the clock. The best 15m signals occur 07:00–10:00 UTC (London open) and 12:30–16:00 UTC (New York overlap). Asian-session 15m signals on EUR/USD and GBP/USD have a poor hit rate.
- Targets: 8–15 pips on EUR/USD, 10–20 on GBP/USD and USD/JPY, $3–$6 on gold. Stops of similar size or smaller — scalping only works with a positive or neutral reward-to-risk.
- Spread matters: a 1-pip spread is 10% of a 10-pip target. Scalp only the tightest pairs (EUR/USD, USD/JPY) unless your broker offers raw spreads.
- Exit when the reading flips. A 15m signal that turns Neutral is your cue to take profit or move the stop to break-even.
- No trades 15 minutes either side of red-flag news.

Signal checklist before you enter
- Gauge reading is Buy/Strong Buy (or Sell/Strong Sell) on this timeframe and on the next higher one.
- Price is at or near a key level, not in the middle of nowhere.
- No red-flag release in the next 30 minutes on the calendar.
